In the beginning, the spirit of God hovered over the surface of the water (Genesis 1:2) when the world was created. The spirit of life gave life to the church when the church was born at Pentecost. He has never left, He is still with us. (1 Corinthians 3:16). This was after Jesus’ intimate meeting with his disciples and giving them that promise that he would not leave them comfortless.
We personally are born of the spirit (John 3:6) and become one body of Christ by one spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13). Having begun life in the spirit we continue to walk being led by the spirit (Galatians 5:25) in order to achieve what God has in store for us as the body of Christ.
He knows the destination and therefore leads and guides us in the direction we should go. While on the way He is the comforter, sustainer, and protector in many ways in our journey as a BOLD church. He is involved in our worship as we worship in the spirit (John 4:24), He helps us to pray(Romans 8:26), and he gives revelation to God’s Word.
We continue in the way in fellowship with the spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14). Companionship with the spirit gives us the assurance that God is with us through our earthly journey even in the midst of circumstances that prevail against us. We are strengthened every day by him too. (Ephesians 3:14). He produces fruit through us as we live out the law of love with our neighbours (Mark 12:31).
The Spirit of God sanctifies and transforms us every day till the final day (1 Peter 1: 1-2). We are confronted by his leading to the image of Christ. We shall be caught up in the air by HIS Spirit’s power to be with the lord forever. Glory to God!
